Phthalates and chemicals in the products, what are they and are they harmful?
At Bath-a-holic we have made a concerted effort to ensure that you are provided with products that have few chemical additives if any, and that they are safe for use. One concern is the use of Phthalates in fragrances. We have ensured that the only the products with Fragrance would contain any Phthalates and the ones used are approved of by the European Union (EU) an organization that is very strict with thier ingredient approval. Studies that have been conducted on this Diethyl Phthalate (the Phthalate used in our fragrances) have proven that there is no harm to humans in the levels that are currently used. The Fragrances for Bath-a-holic are as follows: Cucumber, Coconut, Bubble Gum, Strawberry, Handsome, Sugar Cookie, Chocolate, Sweet Sugar and Baby Boo. The Lavender, Vanilla, Grapefruit and other combinations as listed on the ingredient page are from Phthalate free essential oils.
How do you make the product?
Each product is done in small batches in order to ensure quality control and the uniqueness of it.
Are there nut products used?
Yes, there are nut products used in some of the products, not all. For example, in the hand scrub we use Kukui Nut oil and we cannot guarantee that the product has not come into contact with nuts. We recommend that if you do have a severe nut allergy, to err on the side of caution. Please check our ingredients information as well, for more information.
Are your products tested on animals?
No, we do not test on animals and the suppliers that we use do not test on animals
How are your products tested and developed?
Through focus groups and questionnaires, the product needs were identified. Then volunteers tested the products, replied with their results and the products were modified. Nothing that is available does not have our 100% confidence in its’ performance. We are continually trying to improve our product line and would love to receive any feedback. The products are designed and made for you, so your input is essential to us.
Do these products really work?
Yes, they do. It is also important to note that a healthy diet, exercise and genetics are really the basis for great skin. These products only enhance what is already there.
Are all the products safe for children too?
The only product that we do not recommend that is used on children is the Sickie Poo Pain Rub. The liquid menthol content is quite high and could irritate a child. We also recommend that if your child has sensitivities, then products using essential oils or unscented is probably the best choice.
Are your products “All Natural”?
While we make every effort to create all natural products, some are and some are not. For the shampoos, lotions, bubble baths, gels (Pain Rub, Kiddie Sickie Sauce, Glitter Goop) there are some preservatives, most of the products are 96 – 98% all natural. This allows for a safe shelf life and for bacteria not to grow and cause reactions. Some of the products like The Super Soothing All Purpose Salve, Oatmeal Baths, Massage oils have 100% natural ingredients. The natural preservatives used are Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Honey and Vitamin E to name a few. Are your products Organic?
Some have organic ingredients and we do our best effort to provide organic products, but no they are not all organic.
